New Orleans is one of the world’s most culturally rich destinations. Renowned for its restaurants and music, French Quarter and Garden District, Condé Nast Traveler has named New Orleans the No. 5 Best Big City in the U.S. as a part of the travel publication’s Reader’s Choice Awards 2016. In addition, Travel+Leisure named New Orleans one of “America’s Most Charming Cities”, January 2017.
The Historic New Orleans Collection (THNOC) is a museum, research center and publisher in the heart of the French Quarter dedicated to preserving the history and culture of New Orleans and the Gulf South. It is free to visit the museum’s four exhibition spaces. Find multicultural stories of the region’s development as well as rotating art exhibitions. Learn about the architectural styles of the city’s oldest neighborhood, the Vieux Carré, and enter the private residence of THNOC’s founders, General L. Kemper and Leila Williams.
Celebrate the 100 yr. anniversary of Le Petit Théâtre du Vieux Carré with a performance of Disenchanted! (book, music and lyrics by Dennis T. Giancino). The play is a fun, subversive musical skewering your favorite fairytale princesses who have come back to life to set the record straight. Le Petit Théâtre Du Vieux Carré is New Orleans’ most historic playhouse located just off of Jackson Square in the French Quarter.
